My name is Greg Senyo and I am an Orvis endorsed fly fishing guide. My weakness is steelhead fly fishing in Ohio and Pennsylvania’s Lake Erie Tributaries. I grew up in Girard Pennsylvania and have had the pleasure of being within walking distance to the Famed Elk Creek. I have spent the last 20 years dedicated to and perfecting my fly tying skills and techniques while fishing the tributaries most anglers today call Steelhead Alley. I own and operate Jag Fly Company which provides Quality Great Lakes steelhead/salmon and trout flies to the public online and through fly shops at affordable prices. We recently expanded and Jag fly Company 2 is now operational in PA offering
custom limestone trout patterns and small mouth bass patterns. We already have over 600 dedicated and yearly customers and over 100 flies to choose from! I am a member of the NW Ohio Field Staff that writes a monthly column for Ohio Country Angling Magazine which is dedicated to the preservation of Ohio heritage and educating Ohio anglers in the ways of newer techniques and proper care for Ohio s wild life and Natural resources. My column is dedicated to our Lake Erie steelhead fishery. I am a steelhead school instructor with our guide service which puts on two 3 day steelhead schools per year were we teach anglers all aspects of fly-fishing, water reading, leader building, fly tying, casting, and how to properly land, handle, and release steelhead trout. I also give fly tying schools at my residence all year long for all seasons patterns from salt water to fresh water. I donate several free Guide trips a year and numerous flies to handicapped anglers and for local charities and fund raisers and belong to several steelhead forums and organizations like the Friends of Conneaut Creek. I also attend several fly fishing shows and perform fly tying demonstrations for some of the best fisherman in the Mid West. Many of my custom fly patterns can be seen in Magazines and books such as John Nagy’s Lake Erie Steelhead Guide book 3rd edition, Fly Fisherman Magazine, and several local out door publications. This year I will have featured 5 great new fly patterns in the 2008 Orvis Catalog for both steelhead and trout. This spring and summer I constructed a new Amish style cabin/lodge on my property in the Allegany Forest in Pennsylvania. I own a multi- mile strip of private trout stream and offer all inclusive trout fishing retreats and lodging while fly fishing for brook trout from 9 to 15 inches in length. This is a completely rewarding and exciting fly fishing destination. I am also a certified police officer in Ohio and serve for the Village of Wayne which is located east of the city of Bowling Green. For the department I am a certified instructor for the state’s Hooked on fishing not on drugs program for children and young and troubled teens.
