Terry McLoughlin is a self-taught fly tier with 22 years of experience.  His specialty is midge tying, with a preference for tying the smallest of flies.  He has demonstrated and taught midge-tying classes at 3 FFF Conclaves.  Terry’s favorite fly to tie is the Humpy Midge sizes 20 – 28.  This pattern was recently published in Dry Fly Patterns for the New Millennium.  He has tied commercially in the past, but now he teaches fly-casting and fly-tying classes at Port Royal Flyfishing Outfitters, where he is one of the managers.  Since 1991, his choice of hooks has always been Daiichi because of their sharpness, strength and variety of styles, especially in the smaller sizes.   If you are interested in more information or conversation about midge tying, Terry would like you to contact him at the following address:  Terry McLoughlin 3012 Sherbrooke Rd.
