I am a Computer Science teacher for Shawsheen Technical High School. I have been tying flies and fly fishing for 40 years. My
tying has evolved over the years and I tie commercially for a group of fisherman that fish primarily in the Northeast. I am a member and instructor for the United Fly Tyers and also serve on their board of directors
I have been teaching an adult fly tying program for the past 4 years at the High School I currently work for. I occasionally write for On The Water magazine. I don t specialize in any one style of tying although I love to nymph fish and find myself filling my boxes with a variety of these flies. I am a member of Trout Unlimited, Federation of Fly Tyers, United Fly Tyers, NE Saltwater Flyrodders and the Catskill Fly Tyers Guild. I really enjoy trying to imitate the insects and the baitfish in the waters I fish. Fly Tying has become as much an art form for me as well as a way to catch fish. I find it being a way for me to express my artistic ideas. I have been obsessed with the collection of fly tying materials and I love to experiment with new materials. If it swims I will fish for it but my passion is fishing for trout in the streams of Northern N.H. and Maine. I fish for Stripers in the North Shore of Massachusetts and you can find me trolling for landlocked salmon as soon as ice is out.
