A lifelong fly tyer, Larry Antonuk began tying walleye jigs in Northern Wisconsin when he was 12.  This was mainly to support his Dad`s walleye habit, but he quickly moved to trout flies and never looked back.  Over the years Larry has fished and tied in several states and on several continents.  In 2000, while living in Nottingham, England, he joined the Fly Dresser`s Guild and was awarded the 2001 Fly Dresser of the Year award.

He returned home to New Hampshire in 2002 and was awarded a grant from the NH Arts Council for a Traditional Arts Apprenticeship.  This allowed him to study full dress Atlantic Salmon Fly dressing over the course of a year with Bob Wyatt of Concord, NH.  He now sells framed salmon flies at several locations in New Hampshire.  You can see some of his work at ClassicAtlanticSalmonFlies.com.  Larry teaches fly tying for the Monadnock Chapter of Trout Unlimited and also at the Sharon Arts Center in Peterborough, NH.   A mediocre fisherman, Larry enjoys fishing trout streams in New Hampshire and western Massachusetts.  This photo shows him on the Rapid River in northern New Hampshire.  The Rapid is a classic brook trout spawning ground that is being overrun by invasive smallmouth bass, introduced illegally in Lake Umbagog 10 – 15 years ago.
